I hope all of you are enjoying your 4th of July! Today I’ll be going on a day trip up to wine country! Woohoo! Here are some weekend links for you to enjoy. All of these articles are wonderful so definitely go check them out! Have a safe and fun weekend.
Money Under 30 has a great article about What need to know about Homeowners’ Associations. Homeowners’ Associations (HOA) represents one of those hidden costs that many new buyers aren’t aware of. Unfortunately some HOAs charge a pretty hefty amount each month.
Over at The Wisdom Journal a guest post by Go Banking Rates talks about Two Financial Mistakes You Would Make Again. I loved this article because it makes us think about what’s worth spending money on. In the personal finance blogosphere we can get so caught up with saving money that we forget what we’re saving for. One argument I would make though, if you know ahead of time (wedding) that you’ll be spending a lot, create a goal and start saving today!
Ryan at Cash Money Life, wrote an interesting article answer the question of, How Easy is It to Get Scammed by Online Loan Companies. I think he makes a great overall message that you need to educate yourself, to avoid getting into trouble.
Over at the Financial Highway, Ray makes an interesting comparison between the World Cup and Investments with, 5 Investing Lessons from the World Cup. I’m not the biggest soccer fan out there, but I’m sure those of you that are will definitely appreciate the parallels that Ray draws.
Free For Broke announced this week that they finally closed on their home. You can check out all the juicy in their post We Are Home Owners.
Finally, Joe over at Personal Finance By The Book wrote a very inspired piece about How to Get Personal Finance Taught in a Public High School. I think that it’s a wonderful idea, and I hope that it catches on. Spread the word!

Have a great time in wine country. Sounds like fun. Thanks for the mention…one little slip-up though – should be Personal Finance by the Book instead of Wisdom Journal.
Oh my! I’m so sorry Joe!
I fixed that. Thanks for letting me know!Hope you have a great weekend with your family!
No problem. You had best be getting over to wine country now. By the way, where do you live. We have about 15 wineries in our tiny Southern Illinois county…our own wine trail!
We went up to the Napa area. It was really hot up there but overall it was a really great trip. We only went to one winery so we have many more trips to make.
Hope you had a great 4th!
Thanks a lot Craig! I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July as well!
